OSRAM In Malaysia

OSRAM is the joint number one light source and electronic control gear manufacturer worldwide. The OSRAM brand name was registered way back in 1906 and is one of the oldest trade names still recognized throughout the world. We supply innovative lighting for every aspect of life – for the largest of international landmarks such as Petronas Twin Towers and to the smallest of LEDs for precision medical instrument.

Between these extremes, OSRAM products quietly and efficiently shine on, casting light where it is needed. OSRAM (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd is a wholly-owned subsidiary of OSRAM GmbH, Germany. We are a sales and marketing office serving a growing network of dealers, distributors and wholesalers.

Our operation in Malaysia began in 1994 as a branch office for OSRAM Singapore with two staff and 15 dealers. Today, we are a full-fledged sales office in Malaysia with a lean organization of 20, a 100-strong dealer network and have become the number two light source provider in Malaysia, from being unplaced 10 years ago.

OSRAM is all around in Malaysia. More than 90% of Proton cars use OSRAM lights for both interior and exterior lights; and half of the administrative capital of Putrajaya is lit by OSRAM, while more and more households and businesses are switching on an OSRAM.

We are committed to conservation of energy and to caring for the environment. Innovation and quality drives our research and development but always while ensuring minimum impact on the environment. One of our objectives is to introduce more of the environmentally-friendly yet competitively priced products that OSRAM is known for the world over to Malaysian users. In 2003, we became the first light source provider in Malaysia to offer a guarantee on energy-saving lighting aimed at the consumer market.
