OSRAM at the Essen Motor Show – Lamps for the creative tuner

The No. 1 in the field of automotive light applications presents visitors to the Essen Motor Show with a dazzling array of attractive xenon and halogen lamps guaranteed to make every car an eyecatcher and boost road safety, too. The new developments include a box of spare lamps for
emergencies on the road.

OSRAM will be exhibiting at the Essen Motor Show for what is already to be the sixth time. For the growing tuning market is highly interesting to the light manufacturer too. Tuning fans in particular set great store by the lights on their vehicles. Elektra A. Kountouris, Marketing Director Automotive Aftermarket at OSRAM said: "Tuning means more than just chunky aluminum hubcaps. Tuned cars are unique overall works of art reflecting an incredible creative drive. The lighting is a decisive feature of such a vehicle's appearance and is crucial for a perfect look on the road. And as tuned vehicles always need MOT approval, they must – very rightly – comply with strict requirements for perfect lighting to ensure maximum road safety. The range of lamps from OSRAM offers an optimum mix of high-quality and eye-catching lighting solutions that cater to the needs of tuners and ensure safe tuning."

A trusty companion on the road
Should a lamp fail on the road, despite its high quality and long service life, OSRAM also offers a compact spare lamp box for halogen lamps of types H1, H4 and H7. It includes not only the main headlamp but also five further lamps for the blinkers. Thanks to OSRAM's innovative compact packaging (12x8x5 cm), the box is easy to store in the boot or even the glove compartment. The very stable plastic surface offers the lamps perfect protection from jolts and vibrations. What's more, it is now mandatory in many of Germany's neighboring countries and other Mediterranean states to carry spare lamps – so taking a spare lamp box along on a journey can help avoid problems with the police. Three fuses (15A, 20A and 30A) round off the spare-parts kit for automotive lighting. All lamps are in OSRAM's usual original equipment manufacturer quality.

Lamps for the perfect look and perfect vision
No matter what alterations are made to the vehicle and the look of its lighting, there must be no compromising on safety. A halogen lamp such as the OSRAM NIGHT BREAKER ensures safety and high visibility, illuminating the road up to 90 percent more brightly with a beam that is 10 percent whiter – yet without dazzling the oncoming traffic. As a result, the important visibility zone in front of the car is optimally illuminated by up to 35 meters.

OSRAM recommends the XENARC D2 COOL BLUE to anyone preferring blue to white light. It too achieves outstanding light effects while lending the car an exceptionally cool blue look. The light from the lamp nonetheless achieves a color temperature of 5000 Kelvin, thus ensuring a clear view and driving comfort. With its highly contrasting bluish light OSRAM XENARC D2 COOL BLUE combines innovative technology with a striking design. With lamps like these, any car is sure to turn heads on the street. The lamp is used for the main lamp functions such as dipped beam and full beam headlights.
