LED on snow: illuminated winter fashion dazzles the piste
If you want to know what will be in vogue on the international ski pistes in 2036, then check out Willy Bogner's "Winter Games" under the watchwords "Munich loves the Olympics". Equipped with cutting-edge LED technology, two outfits have hit the catwalk on a sartorial trip into the future. Bogner on the outside, OSRAM on the inside: that's what gives these ski suits their sparkle. What look like dots of light to an observer are actually the result of high-tech engineering.
The "Solar Light Suit" is fitted with twelve brightly illuminated, solar-powered OSRAM Golden DRAGON LEDs on both the front and the rear as well as on the sleeves. These LED light sources boast a particularly high luminous efficacy along with a low space requirement. In the "Private Space Suit", the flexible, separable LED strips place impressive illuminated highlights in red and white. LINEARlight Flex is the name of the lights along the strip and they make an attractive modern design element.
"There is no question that light will assume a whole host of different functions in the future that are quite inconceivable to the modern consumer," said Florian Hockel, applications engineer at OSRAM. "For our technicians, the Future Outfits for Willy Bogner were another excellent chance to demonstrate just what our LED-modules can do, even the face of an unusual, futuristic challenge."
