Federal Square: All foot traffic areas are lit with dimmable luminaries for energy conservation. Dimmable ECG's were used to so that light levels can be controlled and operated at preset levels depending on the time of day or night and available daylight.

The site is made up of four uniquely designed buildings that house a variety of points of interest in addition to retail shopping outlets, bars, business's and art galleries.
The National Gallery of Victoria's collection of Australian Art is housed in one of the buildings covering 7250m². The ground floor houses artwork by Australian Aboriginals and Torres Strait Islanders. Level 1 houses modern Australian collection and level 2 houses contemporary art and galleries for exhibitions.
