The answer to heat buildup

The “classic” dichroic reflector lamp is patently unsuitable in a recessed ceiling luminaire because 2/3 of the heat it radiates is directed backwards. High temperatures in the luminaire can jeopardize the reliability of the entire lighting system. The solution is the DECOSTAR 51 ALU from OSRAM. Its reflector has an aluminium coating so almost no heat at all is emitted at the back. Low-pressure technology also means the lamp can be operated without a shield. Heat can therefore escape forwards with no restrictions at all.
